At this time there is a No Wake Zone in effect for all of our lakes: North and South Goose, Robour, Oxbow, and Mandall (and the Channel). The "slow no wake zone" is 300 feet from shore and means that the operation of a watercraft at the slowest possible speed necessary to maintain steerage, and no greater than 5mph. The no wake zone is to help minimize damage to shorelines due to high water levels. Would you like to learn more about groundwater resources and the geology of Chisago County? The Geologic Atlas is a series of maps showing our county's geology, mineral and ground water resources. It is available on the county website and through printed maps.
The Geologic Atlas represents a comprehensive, detailed illustration of the layers of rock, sand and clay between the surface of the ground and the bedrock below. The distribution and character of these layers determine how and where water enters the earth, and where it is stored in aquifers that can supply our needs. The maps show how water flows underground and can relate land use to water quality.
